Swine flu: it's a panicdemic!

I can't believe nobody's posted anything on swine flu yet: what's wrong with you people?!

I have been personally affected by the swine flu pandemic. Three of my acquaintances (someone I was at school with in Stoke; a friend of a friend in Leeds; and a friend's sister's fiancé in London) have been struck by this most terrifying virus. I'm trying to stay strong though, despite the obvious trauma.

The UK is doing very well in the league table of countries affected by swine flu. You can keep an eye on your own country's progress here.

So, do you have any personal stories to share? Are you washing your hands as obsessively as I am? Do you change carriages when someone near you on a tram/train/bus/metro sneezes? Or am I blowing things totally out of proportion?

I overheard that the swine flu virus has combined with the bird flu virus to give birth to a newborn virus which has promised to affect only bird-brained swine-individuals. Not flipping likely, Hannah, you're offside, thus immune to it.

So pigs might actually fly soon, at least in virus form!

Hannah, do you know what caused this terrible outbreak of swine flu?

Factory farming of course. When man learns to treat animals with respect, then not only will his spirit be lighter, but he will also reduce the chance of karmic consequences such as swine flu. *sigh*

If you are sick or have any flu-like symptoms, stay home. Do not go to school or work. Swine flu symptoms may mimic those of regular flu and cold symptoms.
